Revamping the fuel system

For a couple events I was having issues with the car cutting out under hard cornering. I began to suspect the baffles in the tank had broken, but after inspecting them, they looked fine. The next plan was to add an external surge tank. The FC tank opening is not adequate to add an internal surge tank setup.

I started off with adding a DeatschWerks low pressure lift pump to a Aeromotive inline 100 micron filter, then a 2 liter surge tank, and finally a Walbro 255. The premade surge tank made line routing difficult, but in the end I’m fairly happy with the results.

While the differential was out, it was the perfect time to make new fuel lines under the car. The exhaust runs down the left hand frame rail, which is less than ideal having fuel an exhaust on the same side. The old fuel lines ran down the the left hand frame rail, then crossed over the top of the transmission bellhousing to the front right end of the firewall.

I started with mimicking the old fuel lines, but flipping the bends to get the line down the right hand frame rail. I finished it off with billet line separators, rivnuts into the floor with billet line retainers, and reinstalling the Earls inline fuel filter.
