Making it less “racecar”

The cars lack of interior bothered me from the day I purchased it. I started pursuing a full interior awhile back in hopes of finding a full black interior. No luck. Gray was my next choice and luckily I found a full interior in Tucson, and ironically a gray interior in the junkyard the next day.

I mixed and matched the nicest pieces from the two interiors, but sadly both dashes were far from nice. I spot drilled the speaker towers out of the car at the junkyard and got those welded back in. I then proceeded to install the rear interior and trimmed everything I could to fit around the cage.

Moving to the front I removed the S14 dash, welded in a new drivers seat rail, installed ALOT of heat shielding, cleaned up the wiring/routing, then went onto installing the front half of the interior. The dash took a life time to trim around the cage, but once that was sorted out, the rest went smoothly.

Overall I’m very happy with the way its turned out. The car is a lot more comfortable and is much quieter while driving now. I plan to move the Defi’s into a center gauge pod when one becomes available again. The front door panels will be tricky due to the door bars, but I have a few ideas for when that project comes along.

Like who puts an S14 dash in FC, let alone a denim wrapped one…
